Let’s take a trip back to December 2020. Taylor and Leslie had just tied the knot, and among their wedding gifts was a cold brew maker from their registry. Leslie started making coffee at home, sharing it with friends and coworkers—everyone loved it!
By July 2022, they decided to turn their passion into a business, selling cold brew, Italian cream sodas, and peach tea at local farmers' markets and festivals in the Shreveport-Bossier area under the name SoBo Cold Brew. The response was amazing, and they knew they wanted to take things to the next level with a brick-and-mortar shop.
In August 2023, they opened their first storefront inside Pierre Bossier Mall’s food court—a stepping stone while they searched for a permanent home. Along with their beloved drinks, they introduced scratch-made cookies, which quickly became a hit. Business thrived, but as with many malls across the country, foot traffic declined. SoBo Cold Brew was the last shop standing in the food court before closing its doors on Halloween 2024.
Now, in February 2025, Leslie and Taylor are eagerly preparing for their new, permanent location in Benton—SoBo Cafe! With an expanded menu featuring food alongside their signature drinks, they’re excited to fill a need in the community. More than just a coffee shop, SoBo Cafe is designed to be a third place—a cozy, welcoming space between home and work where people can gather, relax, and enjoy great company over a cup of coffee and a bite to eat.
They can’t wait to welcome you in!
